MSME Sarthak Scheme – Karnataka

Overview

The MSME Sarthak Scheme is part of the Karnataka State Industrial Policy 2020-25. It is designed to address key challenges faced by MSMEs in the state — such as access to credit, raw material, market linkages, technology adoption, ease of doing business, and so forth.
The scheme emphasises digital facilitation, a one-stop platform, and establishing a Centre of Excellence (CoE) to support MSMEs.

Key Features & Benefits for Business Owners
  • An online technology platform is proposed where you can access modules for Information, Facilitation, Regulation & Ease of Doing Business.

  • Integration of raw-material supply chains, e-mandis/APMC markets, logistic links, warehouse/Cold-storage, marketplace aggregators to help MSMEs procure inputs and sell products more effectively.

  • Setting up of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) with a grant (~₹100 crore) to help MSMEs adopt advanced technologies (Industry 4.0 etc) and enhance competitiveness.

  • Specific focus on backward/un-developed regions (Level-2/Level-3 areas) of Karnataka, to promote industrialisation and employment in these zones.

Eligibility – What You Should Check
  • Your enterprise must be a registered Micro, Small or Medium Enterprise (MSME) in Karnataka.

  • Enterprises located in Level 2 or Level 3 areas (under-developed districts/regions) get priority under this scheme.

  • The scheme is not intended for large scale enterprises; mainly for small and medium scale operations.

Application & Implementation – Business Owner Steps
  1. Register your business as an MSME (if not already) and confirm your location category (Level 2/3 region).

  2. Use the digital portal (when available) under the scheme to access information and modules.

  3. Identify what support you need – whether raw-material linkage, market access, technology upgrade, logistic/warehouse tie-ups.

  4. Engage with the Centre of Excellence (CoE) (once operational) to adopt new technologies or improve standards.

  5. Submit application or request for support through the designated nodal agency in Karnataka; follow up for approval and benefit realisation.

Why This Scheme Matters for You
  • If you are an MSME in Karnataka, especially in a less developed region, this scheme gives you access to supports beyond just subsidy — including logistics, sourcing, market access, technology.

  • Helps reduce your input cost (via better raw‐material supply chains) and improve output value (via better technology & market linkages).

  • The emphasis on “ease of doing business” means you might face fewer regulatory/operational hurdles through the portal and the schemes wrapped under Sarthak.

  • Provides a path for upgrading your enterprise rather than staying at a basic level of operation — increasing your competitiveness and growth potential.

Important Considerations for You
  • The scheme details (especially the digital portal and CoE) are “proposed” as part of policy; you’ll need to check the current operational status, availability of modules, and how your region is covered.

  • Even though support is wide, your enterprise still needs to show viability: good business plan, readiness to adopt improvements, ability to use the support.

  • If your enterprise is outside Karnataka, this scheme won’t apply. Make sure to check your state’s equivalent scheme.

  • Locate your region’s “Level 2/3” status to know priority eligibility and perhaps higher benefit; regions in urban/highly developed zones may have less favourable terms.
